The planets in our solar system don’t have the kind of atmosphere that we have here on Earth, so we wouln’t be able to breathe. Also, some planets are so hot we would burn, or so cold we would freeze, or thier atmosphere is so dense we would be crushed flat! But there may be planets outside our solar system which may have atmospheres like our Earth, which humans may be able to live on. I do belive that one day humans will be able to travel to and live on other planets!

When I was your age we thought we’d build a station to live on the moon. No-one thought that we’d achieve the wonderful feat of going to the Moon and back, and then just… stop. It’s very disappointing.

(I know the Moon isn’t a planet, but it would be a good start.)

We’ve evolved over millions of years to live on Earth, with its exact atmosphere, temperature and lots of water. We couldn’t live anywhere where the conditions weren’t very similar, unless we built a big bubble with an artificial atmosphere to live in. But other living things may have evolved in different conditions on other planets.

I think we probably can – we just haven’t found where that planet is yet!
