• Question: Is the sun ever going to stop burning and giving off heat and light?

      Yes. The sun is a star, and stars use up fuel in a nuclear fusion reaction, that’s what causes stars to give off light and heat. Stars will eventually run out of fuel. Big stars (10 times the size of our sun) will explode as a supernova. Stars like our sun will gradually die, giving off less light and heat over billions or trillions of years. Eventually the sun will give off too little light and heat to support life here on Earth. If human beings are still around then, hopefully we will have figured out a way of living on other planets by then!

      Yes one day this will happen and then life on Earth will end as we know it. Don’t worry though I don’t think it will happen in the near future 🙂
