Good question – the total passed 7 billion in March this year. The projections for future rises in the world population spell potential problems for the environment and human health. Simply put – there are too many humans for too little space. Our ability to migrate to other inhabitable planets will likely determine whether the human species survives long-term.

We could manage with more people if the ones who use lots of resources used a bit less. People in rich countries like the UK and the USA use lots of food, water and fuel compared to those in poor countries.

In China the Government imposed a ‘one child policy’ to try and limit their population – do you think this is a good idea?
