• Question: don't you find it a bit disgusting, testing other peoples poo and urine?

      I’ve never thrown up at work, but yes at times it is “challenging” work.

      No not at all – though it is a bit wierd when the urine or blood sample is still warm! We don’t test poo very often and when we do it’s usually in a fume cabinet so we can’t smell it too much 🙂 Though for one test we do have to microwave it!!!

    It may be poo and wee to you, but it’s bread and butter to us.

    In my laboratory it’s mostly blood specimens.

    Did you know that many adults are embarrassed when they talk to their doctors about faeces and urine? Did you see the adverts on TV trying to help them get over it? What do you think would help.
