• Question: Do you ever get scared cutting a dead body?

      No, not now. It takes some getting used to though. I remember the first time I went into a mortuary at medical school – a very weird experience. The bodies we looked at in med school were preserved in formulin – they look very different to fresh tissue.

      I’ve never done that – though would love to see a post mortem and have a go!

      I don’t do post mortems (also called autopsies) any more, though I used to when I was in training. I was never scared, although sometimes it could be a bit unpleasant, especially if it had been some time before the body had been discovered and it was badly decomposed. As Michael says, it takes some getting used to, and it’s not for everyone.
